HAPPY BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE!
codeRED:
Was fun. We met at Changi and started really late because we all seemed to be on different trains and the group of little ones were really suaku, so. =P In the end we started ra-raing them at Tanah Merah, and I really cannot tell you what audience reactions were because I wasn't paying attention. But we tried to do the Kallang wave, and it worked, somewhat, and was very cool. There was this old man who was really sweet and waving his flag, and this "brudder" who, when the NE quiz people called "uncle", said "eh you call me uncle ah?" The people were all very nice and sang along and this was the most enthu train we got. We actually got them to wave their flags and posters and say "HAPPY NATIONAL DAY" to the people who got on.
We got off at Raffles Place and wanted to do it again so we went on the NS line and this time it was a little more crowded and not many sang along but it was still pretty okay I guess. They were amused and all. Then we got off at Novena (we actually planned to reach Bishan) because there was really no audience response and nothing much we could do. So we simply trooped in the next train towards Orchard and sang as a whole group and everyone daoed us. K fine, some smiled and no one sang along, but hey, they've got a story to tell now. ^_^
Ate at Wisma Macs, then walked around Orchard singing. We held up the banners and sang at the top of our voices around the Ngee Ann national dayish tents, and they played Rainbow Connection on the radio speaker things. It's a conspiracy, I tell you. Then there was this one guy who walked with us for a bit with his arms in the air and then asked us where we were from and of course we said "SINGAPORE!" and he said happy national day back to us and all.
After that our batteries sort of died down and we decided we'd run out of songs and things to do so we went home.
Mission accomplished.
I am so doing this again next year. =D=D=D
