Okay. In as few words as possible, these are the culinary adventures I have been on:
Not-Lasagne with Teo Sue Anne
* we decided we couldn't handle lasagne noodle layers, so we made curly pasta instead
It looked and smelled great and tasted okay. The pasta was a bit bland and Sueanne didn't like the sauce. But the meatballs were pretty nice I guess. Dry, but tasty. We are on our way to opening our own restaurant!
Excelsior!
Oreo Cheesecake (attempt number 2) with Teo Sue Anne
* our first attempt resulted in a cheesecake that tasted good, but had the consistency of yoghurt
We made the special design for Kenny Yong! This is his trial birthday cake. We made a third cake (that one had the consistency of a rock, because it was frozen. In my defence, it tasted good once it melted up a bit, and it was like really rich ice-cream cake anyway, so I don't see why anyone should complain :@) that I brought to school to eat in the morning. Nothing like cheesecake in Temasek Polytechnic at 8.30am.
This is what happens when you try to scoop cheesecake out of a foil pan. After the first attempt, the slices actually managed to stay standing on their own.
Above: the remains of our Oreo journey. Below: what I did with them the first time we attempted a cheesecake.
I was going for snowman.
We ended up with a snowduck who sat in my freezer for the next week.
