Okay now I don't feel like doing anything so I'll just tell about TP open house.

I reached there 45 minutes to the end of the open house, and headed to the Design School because there was a course I read about that I thought might interest me. And it did. They do video and multimedia and something else (was it animation?), and they delve into the technicality of it, so it's the more artistic part of video making, in that sense.

Later I went over to the Business School to check out the Communication and Media Management (CMM) course which I was interested in from the start. I sat in a short skit thing, which was quite funny and involved media like audio voiceovers and video clips, and the audience. Then we headed to the video editting room, and I learned that they used Media Composer, and that it is the industry standard. And then we trooped over to the teaching room for the radio stuff, and the guy told us a bit about how the programme works, and what happens in the radio studio. Then he asked who was interested in radio, and only I raised my hand. Anyway, we were then led to the TV broadcast studio place thing! They did a short gameshow demo for us, and we went into the room where the director sits and chooses and cues the shots he wants to broadcast to the audience at home in front of the TV. Ever since I watched Miss Congeniality I've wanted to try that out. ^^; So then it was over and we were told we could go to the chatroom for more information or to talk to the students or instructors or anyone, so I did.

I asked a student what the difference was between CMM and that design course in terms of the video part. So it's basically CMM focuses on exposing the students to different media so we can choose what we want to specialise in later, because I guess it's all interlinked, you know? And they do some psychology and marketing things too, which I am also interested in. So I do quite like the diversity that the course offers, but I was hung on that design course (which Royston Tan graduated from!) because, you know, I'm gonna be an Oscar-winning director, remember? And I asked her about this, and if I do CMM will I be able to do a Uni course in video/film making (as opposed to production which is sort of what CMM focuses more on - media management; how to manage your own media company and so on). And she suggested I could take CMM, and do freelance video on my own or something, and create a portfolio, so I can show my Diploma, and the portfolio, and.. and yeah lah.

Now I'm even more hung up about the fact that I cannot find my CD of video things. Mich might have it. I hope she does.

I love TP facilities! I'd probably love Ngee Ann's more though, because Ngee Ann is recommanded for mass comm; TP is the Design School that is good. But I like TP's FAST programme.

Well, it's still early, still early. I shall go to NP open house some day. Meanwhile, http://www.tp.edu.sg. =)
